The first summer show of 1971 featured a week-long outdoor exhibition of inflatables, flying sculpture, and ‘art sports’.

Works included Action Space’s air filled tubes, waste disposal bags filled and sealed with helium, and Keith Brocklehurst’s Aerial Sculpture, which took the form of a balloon race.
