Maggi Hambling: Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours

This exhibition concentrated on Maggi Hambling’s work over the previous three years.

This exhibition including paintings by Hambling of London streets, middle-Eastern war zones and Spanish bull rings. Alongside the paintings were a series of watercolours and oils expressing her response to July sunrises over the Orwell estuary.

The Serpentine Gallery’s exhibition was the first substantial one-person show to reveal the full range of her subject matter, and was the first exhibition under the aegis of the new Serpentine Gallery Trust.
