Lucy Raven’s art focuses on the marginal spaces in image production – what happens behind the camera or between the frames of a film. With a true aficionado’s eye, she has handpicked a film programme spanning nine decades of cinema, pairing classic shorts and rarities with cult features and animations guaranteed to appeal to those in search of new discoveries as well as the opportunity to enjoy old favourites in this rare gallery setting.
Karen Alexander is an independent film and moving image curator and researcher. She has worked for the BFI, the RCA and a wide range of institutions and galleries, including Film London, Bristol Watershed, Tate, Birkbeck and Autograph ABP. In 2014 Karen founded Curating Conversations, a peer-led professional development initiative for visual arts practitioners. She curated Whip It Good: Spinning From History’s Filthy Mind by the Danish/Trinidadian artist, Jeannette Ehlers in 2015, and the inaugural touring-season of the Black Atlantic Cinema Club in 2016.
