Merz’s early practice is often thought of as narrowly domestic. Kittler offers a different narrative, one that considers the artist’s close involvement with post-war experimental practices in Turin.
Teresa Kittler is a final year doctoral candidate in art history at University College London. Focusing on 1960s artistic practice in Italy, her thesis explores the way in which artists have engaged with a poetics of living space in this period. She currently works as part-time teaching fellow at UCL and editorial assistant for the Oxford Art Journal.
