As Ofsted introduces the controversial Bold Beginnings report, which places emphasis on formal education over play, we invite early years practitioners to question the schoolification discourse and re-imagine what it means to be ready for school.

In this event, Albert Potrony talked through his 2016 Changing Play commission and the development of the Play As Radical Practice toolkit developed in partnership with the Portman Early Childhood Centre. The toolkit is designed to support teachers in forming solidarities with the children they work. How can we prepare schools for children? How can we support play in early years education?

The toolkits was available for free to participants.

Changing Play is an ongoing partnership with the Portman Early Childhood Centre, in Westminster which brings together artists, children, families and educators to critically reconsider early years education and care.
