2019 Architecture Family Pack: city in the sky

1 May — 1 Sep 2019

Namuun Zimmerman and Rike Glaser designed the Architecture Family Pack, city in the sky. The pack is designed for children and families to imagine new ways of living together with others.

city in the sky is inspired by the ideas of Superstudio, a group of radical architects and designers who worked together in Florence in the 1960s and 70s. Superstudio wanted to use architecture to solve problems on earth, such as the unfair distribution of money and space and the destruction of the natural environment. They made collages, films, statements and installations to share their ideas.

Designers Namuun Zimmerman and Rike Glaser created the pack in collaboration with Serpentine Education. Zimmerman and Glaser are interested in using design as a tool for public engagement and social interaction.

city in the sky is currently available at the Serpentine.
