Unwritten Handbook: Paul Maheke

Paul Maheke discussed his practice in the Serpentine Galleries Education Space.

Paul Maheke was the lead artist on the 2015 Moving Up commission at Gateway Academy in Westminster, North London, working alongside dancer Benny Ord, filmmaker Filip Tulak and Year 6 pupils and teachers. The project took the form of a series of performative and discursive workshops designed to hold the space for Year 6 pupils to reflect on and share thoughts about their transition from Primary to Secondary school.

Unwritten Handbook is a seasonal series of conversations with artists commissioned through Education and Projects at the Serpentine Galleries. Artist Talks included: Stephanie Cubbin, Chris Jones and Janna Graham, Bedfellows, Anton Kats, Frances Rifkin, Invisible Spaces of Parenthood, Sam Curtis and Mohamad Hafeda.
