Park Nights: Athanasios Argianas' We All Turn This Way

22 Aug 2008 Free

We All Turn This Way was structured in three parts, with individual performances by artists Nick Laessing and Athanasios Argianas.

Following this was their first collaborative project exploring a frequency developed by Friedrich Jürgenson (1903–1987) to communicate directly with the dead.

In the first part of the evening, Argianas presented Music Sideways, a vocal canon amplified and recorded by rotating microphones in A Rotary Recording, after which Laessing presented Voice Figures, using Eidophones based on Margaret Watts Hughes 1880s invention to visualise the quality of the human voice.
