2016 Architecture Family Pack: Loose Parts Kit

Artist Anna Lucas created a kit of parts for families to use to explore the 2016 Pavilion, Summer Houses and surrounding landscape.

Loose Parts Kit was inspired by architect Simon Nicholson’s Theory of Loose Parts. Nicholson argues that children have been cheated out of creativity by static adult-designed environments. He states that all children are creative and are empowered when given access to materials that can be picked up, rearranged, combined and transformed.
