The Arts Council invited Richard Cork, editor of Studio International, to select an exhibition of current British art.
Cork had taken the reigns as editor of Studio International in the mid 1970s. The exhibition aimed to broaden interest in contemporary art by proposing works which addressed questions of social concern.
