Serpentine South Gallery 5 Feb — 8 Mar 1992 Free

This was the second edition of the Barclays Young Artist Award at the Serpentine Gallery.

Nine artists were selected from the previous year’s London post-graduate degree exhibitions at Chelsea College of Art and Design, Goldsmiths College, The Royal Academy Schools, The Royal College of Art and The Slade School of Fine Art.

This year, artist Andrew Kearney won with Untitled (1991), a massive wooden house-shaped structure surrounded by a corrugated iron fence.

Judged by: Mel Gooding, John McEwen, and Bruce McLean in consultation with Julia Peyton-Jones.
