Serpentine South Gallery 1 Aug — 1 Sep 1991 Free

This exhibition responded to an exciting moment in English art; a time that saw the rapid emergence of a new generation of young and talented artists.

These artists found dealers and collectors willing to market and purchase their work and, in a few instances, some achieved a level of recognition traditionally reserved, in the English art world at least, for artists 10 years their senior.

Nevertheless, in most cases their work had yet to be seen in any depth in a major public gallery. This exhibition sought to encourage a new and broader audience for the work of eight of these artists.
