Discovery and Investigation: Five Swedish Artists

Serpentine South Gallery 8 Nov — 7 Dec 1975 Free

An exhibition showing a distinctive selection of modern Swedish art.

This exhibition was conceived as the start of an exchange program between Sweden and Britain. The works on display were specifically chosen for the Serpentine Gallery and formed a distinctive selection of modern Swedish art. The artists themselves composed the rooms, hanging their paintings and displaying their sculptures as they wished.

The artists had nothing in common other than a shared nationality; the selection was intended to reflect the complexity and variety of contemporary Swedish art.
