John Clark: Outside Sculptures

Serpentine South Gallery 22 Aug — 11 Sep 1977 Free

John Clark’s outdoor exhibition was on show alongside the fourth and final part of the Serpentine’s summer exhibition for 1977.

Clark wrote: “I have described some of my outdoor sculpture as landscape furniture because it isn’t complete until it has people on or about it. One of the nice things about making sculpture is that you can sweat physically as well as mentally, so it is important that my sculpture should be physically approachable.”
