Serpentine South Gallery 22 Apr — 21 May 1989 Free

Prominent critic Adrian Searle was invited to select an exhibition of young and international artists whose work reflected current concerns.

The exhibition he devised brought together sculpture and paintings by six artists from Britain, Brazil and Spain.

The work was invested with a courage to take risks and to open up new perspectives in an age of exhaustion. The exhibition introduced relatively unknown artists to a wider audience in the UK and indicated the Serpentine Gallery’s continued desire to provide a platform for up-and-coming artists.
