Raymond Mason: coloured sculptures, bronzes and drawings 1952–82

Serpentine South Gallery 27 November 1982 — 9 January 1983 Free

This exhibition marked the first time in 20 years that sculptor Raymond Mason’s work had been shown in England.

The exhibition was a welcoming home of sorts for Birmingham-born Mason, who had lived in Paris for the past 30 years.

This retrospective was also the most complete presentation of Mason’s work at the time.

Raymond Mason (1922-2010) was best known for his distinctive sculptures and reliefs, depicting densely populated urban scenes.
