Saturday Talks: Róisín McVeigh on Third World: The Bottom Dimension
Róisín McVeigh, Associate Producer, Arts Technologies, leads a tour of the collaborative exhibition Gabriel Massan and Collaborators: Third World: The Bottom Dimension.
Third World: The Bottom Dimension is Gabriel Massan’s first major solo show at a public institution and is part of an ongoing collaborative project grounded in a video game of the same name. With this game at its heart, the exhibition engages the audience as active participants in a responsive environment, including sound, light and gameplay.
The exhibition is also an extended platform for Massan and invited artists to expand on their worldbuilding practices. During this tour with the game’s Producer Róisín McVeigh, you will encounter works by Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro, Novíssimo Edgar, LYZZA, Jota Mombaça and Ventura Profana and find out how their practices intersect with the game. On this tour, you will have the opportunity to learn about the worldbuilding, narrative design and UX design processes that went into creating the game first-hand from the game’s producer.
BSL interpretation is available on request for all our Saturday Talks. Please get in touch at [email protected] if you would like to request this.
Third World: The Bottom Dimension is a journey into a fantastical and thought-provoking world, built by a vital generation of Brazilian artists. This ongoing and multi-dimensional project by Gabriel Massan and collaborators also includes web3 tokens built on Tezos and a video game that explores Black Brazilian experience as it intersects with the impacts of colonialism.
