Seeing is Believing: A Seminar on Hilma af Klint's importance today

Axel and Margaret Ax:son Johnson Foundation and the Serpentine Galleries presented a seminar on artist Hilma af Klint on the occasion of the exhibition Hilma af Klint: Painting the Unseen at the Serpentine Gallery. With Kurt Almqvist, Daniel Birnbaum, Briony Fer, Branden Joseph, David Lomas and Hans Ulrich Obrist. The Serpentine Gallery was open to allow ticket holders to view the Hilma af Klint exhibition immediately prior to the event.

The seminar aimed to advance the understanding of af Klint’s visionary works, the impact it is having in our time, over a 100 years after their creation, and how af Klint expands our notions of art history.

This seminar was organised by the Ax:son Johnson Foundation together with the Serpentine Galleries as a part of the Foundation’s ongoing effort to further the dissemination of scholarly knowledge.
