The Serpentine Gallery’s final summer show of 1974 presented mainly recent works from Anne Brodrick, Tony Carter, Paul Hempton, Judith Lear, and Alex Thomson.

The exhibition included Brodrick’s Shoaling and Sea Fight, Carter’s Described Surface (of an object that seemed petrified with age and non-use), Hempton’s Abstract Expressionist Painting in Perspective and New Brush, Lear’s Given Time, and Thomson’s Untitled I and Untitled II.
