Summer Show 4 [1977]

Serpentine South Gallery 22 Aug — 11 Sep 1977 Free

peter The final summer show of 1977 presented the work of 23 photographers.

This was the first major presentation of photography at the Serpentine Gallery since 1973. Dr Aaron Scharf selected the exhibitors from 300 photographers (students and those who had completed their studies less than two years before were not eligible to apply). The exhibition was notable for its relatively large proportion of colour photography, and the absence of some traditional genres.
