Join artist Jacob V Joyce for an evening of conversation and creative exercises in this Continued Professional Development and Learning (CPDL) event for teachers.
Led by artist Jacob V Joyce, this CPDL evening invites teachers to explore how our bodies can guide engagement with contemporary art— and how these approaches can be applied in the visual art classroom. Taking place within Arpita Singh: Remembering, the session will explore ways into and synergies with Singh’s work, offering adaptable strategies for your teaching practice.
Jacob V Joyce’s practice spans afro-futurist world-building workshops, mural painting, comic books, and performance art. In this workshop, Joyce focuses on locating emotional, playful and sensory connections with contemporary art, using the body as a guide to developing anti-racist teaching methods.
Remembering is the first solo institutional exhibition of Arpita Singh outside India. Singh’s work draws from Bengali folk art and Indian storytelling, blending emotional and psychological insights with reflections on social upheaval and global conflict.
Designed for primary, secondary and alternative provision teachers at any stage of their career, this session offers time and space to reflect, connect and explore creative approaches to teaching. The workshop will focus on accessible and age-appropriate ways of engaging with Singh’s vivid visual language and storytelling.
Through the Teachers’ Study Evening we invite you to:
