The 85° show: A selection of work by London art college graduates

For the first time, the Serpentine Gallery presented a show focused on students.

Six selectors visited 16 London art colleges and chose 21 art students from the 1,500 graduating in 1985. These students were the last to graduate from the London art colleges before the London Institute emerged in January 1986. The exhibition included painting, sculpture, photography, textiles, video work, and performance pieces.
