Join former Serpentine Pavilion architects Frida Escobedo, Rem Koolhaas (online) and Sumayya Vally, alongside Sir Peter Cook, architect of the 2024 Play Pavilion, and artist Francesco Vezzoli for a panel conversation moderated by Serpentine Artistic Director Hans Ulrich Obrist and Zaha Hadid Foundation Director Aric Chen.

The panel forms part of 89 Degrees of Zaha Hadid, a symposium exploring the life and work of Zaha Hadid, organised by the Zaha Hadid Foundation in collaboration with Serpentine and the Architectural Association. Taking place on 31 October, which would have been Hadid’s 76th birthday, and marking ten years since her death, 89 Degrees of Zaha Hadid explores her commitment to experimentation across architecture and the arts, bringing together critical scholarship and personal accounts from friends, colleagues and collaborators.

The panel will explore Zaha Hadid’s life and work through her belief that there should be no end to experimentation, a principle that continues to guide Serpentine’s programme. The discussion will take place in The Magazine at Serpentine North, designed by Hadid and completed in 2013.

The symposium is curated by Aric Chen, Jihane Dyer and Francesco Fiammenghi (Zaha Hadid Foundation), Shumon Basar (Architectural Association) and Hans Ulrich Obrist (Serpentine).
