Alienarium 5: Live Apparitions, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster
From 3 to 5pm on Saturday 28 May, a number of characters from Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster’s immersive 360-degree collage, Metapanorama, will appear as Live Apparitions inside her exhibition Alienarium 5 in the Serpentine South Gallery.
Gonzalez-Foerster’s ‘Apparitions’ are an ongoing series of holographic illusions in which the artist conjures various artistic figures, including novelist and poet Emily Brontë (1818-1848) and opera singer Maria Callas (1923-1977).
This weekend will be the first ever group occurrence of Apparitions, and will feature Emma Kunz, Hilma af Klint, Georgiana Houghton, Annie Besant and Nausicaa from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.
