This was the first major solo presentation of British artist Mark Wallinger’s work.
As well as many works that had not been exhibited in Britain before, the Serpentine Gallery showed new pieces, including National Stud (1995), a large-format film piece, and Q (1994), a group of large paintings shown for the first time at the Serpentine Gallery. The exhibition also offered an opportunity to re-examine work familiar to followers of Wallinger’s fascinating career.
