For Park Nights 2022, Serpentine presented a newly commissioned play by artist Josiane M.H. Pozi. “- a revision” explores themes of love, expectation, disappointment, interpersonal dysfunction, and the distortion of memory by emotion.

“- a revision” follows the narrative of ‘Wife’ and ‘Husband’, who have relocated from the city to live in a former Bed and Breakfast in rural England. Set in a sparse domestic setting, the idyllic vision of a new life in the countryside slowly deteriorates to reveal the couple’s last attempt to save their dying marriage. Emerging from the social and emotional conditions created by contemporary digital life, “- a revision” is a multimedia installation and performance that blurs the line between fiction and reality. The work builds upon Pozi’s previous performance play, which was presented at Auto Italia in May 2022 with the support of Arts Council England, Forma Arts and Media Limited.

Josiane M.H. Pozi (b. 1998, London, UK) is an artist and filmmaker. Over the past year, her work has appeared at Somerset House, London; Kunsthaus Glarus; Stadtgalerie Bern; and The Shed, New York. She previously performed Lifetime in collaboration with musician Klein for Serpentine Park Nights 2019, and her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at Carlos/Ishikawa, London, and Buchholz Galerie, Berlin. Pozi has created music videos, concert visuals and footage for other projects by musicians including Klein, Moses Boyd, Jawnino, and Four Tet. Pozi lives and works in London.
