Serpentine Cinema presented a series of screenings curated by Cerith Wyn Evans on the occasion of his exhibition at the Serpentine North Gallery.

The series of screenings curated by Cerith Wyn Evans included several films screened in their original 16mm, as well as a new work by Steve Farrer on 35mm.

Programme for Part 1 included:
Andy Warhol, Blow Job, 1964, screened on 16mm
A new film by artist and filmmaker Steve Farrer specially created on the occasion of this screening
Peter Gidal, Clouds, 1969, screened on 16mm
Guy Debord, Hurlements en faveur de Sade, 1952

Steve Farrer, 10 Drawings, 1976, screened on 16mm
John Cage, One 11 With 103, 1992, screened on BetaSP
Kenneth Anger, Rabbit’s Moon, 1972, screened on 16mm

Born in 1958, Cerith Wyn Evans has exhibited internationally since the 1980s. Recent solo exhibitions include TBA-21 Augarten, Vienna (2013); De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill on Sea (2012); Kunsthall Bergen (2011); Casa Luis Barragán, Mexico City (2010); Inverleith House, Edinburgh (2009); MUSAC, Leon (2008); Musée d’art moderne de la ville de Paris (2006); ICA, London (2006); Kunsthaus Graz (2005) and Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris (2004). He has also participated in do it Moscow, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow (2013); Light Show, Hayward Gallery, London (2013); Aichi Triennale (2010), Yokohama Triennale (2008), International Istanbul Biennial (2005), Venice Biennale (1995, 2003, 2009, as well as the 12th Architectural Biennale 2010) and Documenta 11 (2002).

Serpentine Cinema is a series of performances and screenings by artists and film-makers held in a cinema context. Presented by the Serpentine Galleries in partnership with Picturehouse Cinemas and LUX.
