Our life sciences programme works with the latest ideas in the science of microorganisms, plants, animals, and other life forms. Find out what connects art, science and technology.
We support artists experimenting with art-science collaborations. From producing and processing food to cleaning up pollution and degrading microplastics, microbes play a key role in fighting climate change, minimising food waste, and controlling disease spread. Artists can and do use viruses, bacteria, algae, fungi, slime moulds, and protozoa in many different ways. We create tools and models that make these kinds of projects possible for artists.
We also run an archive of resources, conversations and content called Compendium. It supports artistic inquiry into ecology and life sciences.
